Zelal Dicle Baz was the first fellow of the Seyir Quartier literature residency and spent six weeks in Cologne. In addition to visiting various literature networks and events, Baz gave a workshop at the Kulturbunker Köln-Mülheim and was a guest in the Contemporary Literature seminar with Professor Yasemin Dayıoğlu-Yücel at the University of Duisburg Essen and in the other Literaturcafé of the Literaturhaus Köln. She curated her own exhibition entitled “Liebe auf den letzten Blick” (Love at Last Sight), in which her texts and photographs by her father were on display at Quartier am Hafen.

During her stay, four of her texts from the short story collection “Misafir Evinde Ölmek” (Eng. Dying in the Guest House) were translated into German and Baz was able to complete her first novel “Yaz” (Eng. Summer).

A booklet will be published to accompany her residency, in which her story “Der Zug Mavi Ekspres” (The Train Mavi Ekspres) can be read in German and Turkish and which gives a small insight into her exhibition. Booklet on request via milena@qah.koeln
