Seyir Quartier is the literature residency of Quartier am Hafen and the istanbulberlin initiative. The residency is intended to give authors and literary mediators from Istanbul and Cologne the opportunity to get to know the independent literary scene of the other city within a period of up to six weeks. A German-Turkish jury selects the scholarship holders.
Istanbul and Berlin are two multicultural cities that create spaces for culture and art. istanbulberlin is a meeting place inspired by these two cities.
istanbulberlin began implementing digital, bilingual projects in May 2020, working with the Yunus Emre Institute Berlin, the Tarabya Cultural Academy, the Frankfurt Book Fair, and Aposto. Its first physical space was created in Berlin.
The scholarship holders are accommodated in Istanbul in the Atelier Galata of the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne.
