Die Kooperationspartner Quartier am Hafen QaH und Kyoto Art Center KAC bieten gemeinsam jährlich ein Residenzprogramm an, welches Kölner Künstler/innen und Künstler/innen aus Kyoto die Möglichkeit bietet sich im jeweiligen Kooperationsland für eine 4-8 wöchige Residenzzeit/Arbeitszeit zu bewerben.
 
2023 lädt das Kyoto Art Center KAC eine/n professionellen Künstler/in für 4-8 Wochen im Zeitraum vom 10.01.- 20.03.2024 ein.

1. VORRAUSSETZUNGEN

• die Ausschreibung richtet sich an Künstler/innen aus Köln und es gibt keine Alterseinschränkungen und künstlerische Disziplin. Offen für alle künstlerischen Disziplinen mit einem besonderen Augenmerk in diesem Jahr auf Kunsthandwerk und Malerei 
• die Residenzzeit beträgt min. 4 Wochen und max. 8 Wochen innerhalb des Zeitraums 10.01. – 20.03.2024
• es gibt bereits eine künstlerische Idee/Vorhaben, an der in dieser Residenz gearbeitet werden soll
• gute Sprachkenntnisse in Englisch oder Japanisch, Fähigkeit zur Kommunikation

2. ANGEBOT

• das KAC übernimmt die Reisekosten bis max. 1.000€.  Die Flüge werden vom/von der Resident/in gebucht
• das KAC bietet eine Unterkunft in der Nähe des KAC
  dem/der Resident/in stehen für die Residenzzeit 1.600€ vor Ort zur Verfügung (einschließlich der Produktionskosten für offene Ateliers und Ausstellungen)
• das KAC bietet die Möglichkeit eines Künstlergesprächs / Offenes Ateliers
• Unterstützung durch den Kunstkoordinator 
• Es wird erwartet, dass die Ergebnisse des Aufenthalts am Ende des Aufenthalts in irgendeiner Form der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert werden (offenes Atelier, Ergebnisausstellung usw.), wobei die Einzelheiten in Absprache mit dem Künstler und dem KAC festgelegt werden

4. KYOTO ART CENTER
Das Kyoto Art Center wurde im April 2000 mit dem Ziel eröffnet, die Kunst in Kyoto durch die Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Stadt Kyoto, den Künstler/innen und Kunstschaffenden umfassend zu fördern.
Bei dem Gebäude handelt es sich um die Wiederverwendung einer Grundschule, die 1993 geschlossen wurde.

Since 2016, the collaboration between the Kyoto Art Center (Kyoto, Japan) and the Quartier am Hafen (Cologne, Germany) have realized an artist-in-residence program.

The cooperation partners Quartier am Hafen (QaH) and Kyoto Art Center (KAC) jointly offer a residency program each year, which offers artists from Cologne and artists from Kyoto the opportunity to apply for a 4-8 week residency/working time in the cooperative city/country.

In 2023, the Kyoto Art Center KAC invites a professional artist for 4-8 weeks in the period from 10.01. to 20.03.2024.

 Previous scholarship holders

1.REQUIREMENTS

• the call for entries is open to artists from Cologne and there are no restrictions on age or artistic field. Open to all artistic disciplines with a special focus this year on crafts and painting
• the residence time is min. 4 weeks and max. 8 weeks within this period from 10.01. to 20.03.2024
• there is already an artistic idea / project for the time of the residency
• good knowledge of English or Japanese, ability to communicate smoothly

2. OFFER

• the KAC covers the travel costs up to max. € 1.000. The flights are booked by the resident
• the KAC offers accommodation near the KAC
• in Kyoto there will be 1.600€ available for the resident (including production costs for open studios and exhibitions)
• the KAC offers the possibility of an artist talk / open studio
• support by art coordinator
• at the end of the residency, it is expected that the results of the residency will be presented to the public in some form (open studio, results exhibition, etc.).Details will be decided in consultation with the artist and KAC

4. KYOTO ART CENTER　

Kyoto Art Centre was opened in April 2000 with the aim of comprehensively promoting art in Kyoto through cooperation between the city of Kyoto, artists and art practitioners.

The building is the reuse of an elementary school that was closed in 1993.
