1956 born in Gemünden am Main / 1976-1979 studied ethnology and anthropology in Göttingen, studied fine arts at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg with Kai Sudeck, Sigmar Polke and Ulrich Rückriem / 1987/88 postgraduate one-year scholarship of the DAAD in Gambia / 1992 Friedrich-Vordemberge-Scholarship of the City of Cologne / 1996 artist-in-residence, Loughborough University, GB, lectureships and guest professorships at various universities, initiator of the Zonta Cologne Art Award
