Annette Wesseling

Annette Wesseling’s works are based on the interplay of painting, photography and natural environmental influences. Colored cotton cloths, for instance, are folded several times and exposed to natural sunlight and the weather outdoors over an extended period of several months. The colors of the cloths change in UV light and over time a hidden aesthetic potential becomes visible. In cooperation with nature, ephemeral processes are involved in the creative process until original images crystallize from the passing and manifestation of time.
