This Saturday at Quartier am Hafen is the last opportunity to explore the exhibition „fin“ in Q18 and meet resident artists Naama Roth and Shai Yehezkelli as they conclude their year-long residency with us. Across the corridor in Atelier 0.10, Ensemble uBu is presenting a studio showing of their upcoming production „Dreamteam.“ This multidisciplinary ensemble is completing their three-week residency at TANZRESIDENZ before entering their final rehearsal phase ahead of the premiere. While Atelier 0.10 has hosted various creative settings and multidisciplinary artists, Ensemble uBu brings something entirely new—for the first time, a grand piano graces the space!

In the exhibition fin, artists and residents at the quartier Shai Yehezkelli and Naama Roth present a body of work that stares into the quiet, bitter stillness of an aftermath. The title, a word often reserved for the closing frame of a film, gestures not only to cinematic endings but to something more terminal—an end that may already be inhabited.
Against a backdrop of escalating violence and collapse, the exhibition navigates a charged terrain of post-catastrophe. The works of Yehezkelli and Roth are marked by dark irony, subdued violence, and a pervasive sense of unease—artefacts of a world that no longer expects redemption. Rather than documenting events, the artists chart emotional and psychic ruins: exhausted mythologies, frayed identities, fragments of language and belief. What remains are traces—ambiguous and unresolved.
fin offers no closure. It is a pause in the noise, a moment of recognition, or perhaps complicity, in the muted turning of the end.

Diving into shared dreams through music and dance, in search of a collective utopia in the virtuosity of the collective, seeking brilliance in dealing with pluralism, mastery in collective dreaming.
During the residency, uBu is working on a new production: With „Dreamteam“ we explore ways to bring dreams together in music and dance while searching for a collective utopia in the virtuosity of the collective.
For this, from March 6 to May 23, uBu is asking for contributions to a public playlist. With music that is personally connected to dreams and utopias. Via Spotify or via email.
The ensemble then develops musical and dance strategies to work with the diversity and contradictions of the musically represented dreams, visions, ideals, and utopias, and transforms them into the concert performance „Mutants in Music: Dreamteam“.
This will be performed on May 23 + 24, 2025 at TanzFaktur Cologne and on May 31, 2025 at resonanzraum Hamburg.
About uBu
uBu is a multidisciplinary ensemble of musicians and dancers. The ensemble develops new concert performances in the friction zones and collision spaces between music, dance, and other art forms. It was established in 2016 and is based in Cologne.
